Hospitality is Louisiana’s front door.

The Louisiana Hospitality Program develops better people, better hospitality professionals, and a stronger guest experience — starting with the server as the Point of Contact.

The standard

Service is leadership at the table.

Louisiana is known worldwide for food, culture, and welcome. Too often, front-of-house work is still treated as temporary instead of a profession.

LHP trains character first, then leadership, then the skills that protect and welcome a guest. A true tip is not given. It is earned through presence, knowledge, and a guest experience that lasts after the check.

“I’m EA. I’m just a server. If you want to know more, ask questions. That is how we learn about our guests.”

E.A. Patout III, CHE — Founder

Level Red

Foundation of service: character, work ethic, first impression, presence, and the understanding that we were all served from the beginning.

Level White

Leadership and entrepreneurship: running the floor, developing people, and building a career that can stay in Louisiana.

Level Blue

Lifesaving and language: first aid, CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, and basic Spanish for the guest.

Now

Live on the floor. Moving into schools.

LHP is demonstrated in real time at Lizzie’s on Main in New Iberia. It is being integrated with the Iberia Parish Career Campus, with a public introduction planned for December 2026 and a Spring 2027 start alongside culinary arts.

The long vision is a Louisiana Hospitality Institute — the dining-room counterpart to how Louisiana already professionalized the kitchen.
